  • Carl Hagenbeck begun including people to his animal-exhibition at Hamburg-St. Pauli, from summer 1874 on. In the following decades, Hagenbeck’s agents promoted people from all over the world: Oromos of Ethiopia, Nubians from Sudan, Inuit from Greenland and Canada, Somalis, Indians and Sinhalese.
