Electric Cars 100 Years Ago

More juice in the storage: Thomas Edison had developed more powerful batteries for the popular electric vehicles and the previously used lead replaced with a lighter combination of nickel and iron. Here he stands in front of a 1913 equipped with such a battery powered car, Bailey Electric, which successfully withstood an endurance race over a distance of 1,000 miles on a single charge.
